- under grip goes to collar (behind neck)
- over grip is same as we've practiced
- punch neck, direction should be outwards aiming under the over grip
- slice throat with over grip
2. Transition to armbar
- from over under
- push off hip to create angle, other leg comes across waist
- switch under grip to grabbing lapel, securing their arm
- push off hip again and aim leg for shoulder
- over grip transitions across face to push away face
- use top leg to push on shoulder the eventually on the face
Rolled once due to time constraints.

Chokes from the back
1. Matta Leo
- over under grip
- use under to open collar
- does not need to be extremely deep, wrist should be on side of neck
- under grip opposite lapel
- scissor to finish, get back away
- when finishing on the side be sure to get off elbow
2. Matta Leo variation
- swing opponents arm out, should be pulling at the elbow
- slide arm across neck (like RNC)
3. Clock choke
- same grip as #1 bit opponent is turtled
- secure lapels and walk around, putting prressure on head
- can opt to weave arm between opponents legs instead
Rolled 6 rounds for warm up with 30 second rest.

Worked on Monday's topic. Some notes that I caught today:
1. Step over choke
- make sure to base head towards hips
- don't plant foot over the head to ensure kicking back
2. Bread cutter choke
- make sure opponent us on side
- if not go to mount to finish
Rolled once.

Collar Chokes
At the grand opening of the gym Roy Harris held class and showed us collar chokes. His focus was on 4 chokes: palm up/palm up, palm up/palm down, bow and arrow and loop choke. He also gave us insight when these chokes are available.
(All my notes are from the butterfly guard and with my right hand grabbing their right lapel)
Palm up / Palm up
(All my notes are from the butterfly guard and with my right hand grabbing their right lapel)
Palm up / Palm up
- Opponent attempts to pass to my left
- Slip left hand in for choke
- Stay sitting as long as possible
- Want thumbs to touch
- Curl wrist so that the wrist is on neck
- Pull and scissor
Palm up / Palm down
- Opponent attempts to pass to my right
- Grab over the top with left and grab gi (shoulder area, near neck)
- Stay sitting as long as possible
- Want thumb and pinkie finger to touch
- Push / Pull - pulling with my right and pushing with my left (scissor)
Bow and arrow
- Available when opponent postures up
- Slide grip down to #3 in the collar bone
- Left hand slide under and grab opponent's left lapel (doesn't matter how high)
- With right grip pull opponent's head down
- Stiff arm their neck, keeping fist closed and pull the left lapel (bow and arrow)
Loop choke
- Available when opponent puts their head down
- Drop grip again so that wrist is in their sternum
- Make sure back of hand is in chest so that wrist is parallel with their neck
- Left hand goes over opponent's neck and into loop created by right arm
- Pull up with right and push down with left
